Jotunheim: The Norse Jotunheim, realm of the Giants or Anunnaki, corresponds to the heart chakra’s Buddhic realm (Love of Light, or Spirit of Soul). The heart chakra is considered the place of Inner Air, associated with the sense of touch and subtle feeling and with the land of the ancestors. This is the Angelic Thrones’ realm of balance, compassion, and intuition, administered by the Clerics, exemplars of Faith and of Cosmic Consciousness.

Erato: “Passionate,” the Muse of Erotic and Love Poetry. She rules the sixth three days (days 16-18) of the 27-day Lunar Calendar of Ascension.

Hazelnuts: The ninth of the Ogham tree-consonants (“Coll” for “C”), Hazel here marks the Southwest point of the North Pentacle: Early Lammas, ca. August 1-3: the Solar Angel of the Hypolydian Song: Accession of Brigit the Yellow-Green Enchanter (Converse Calendar), or the Hypodorian Song: Birth of Sylvia the Magenta Forester (Inverse Calendar). The Hazel is a tree of enchantment and poetic inspiration.

Apple: The tenth of the Ogham tree-consonants (“Quert” for “Q”), Apple here marks the Southwest point of the East Pentacle: Late Lammas, ca. August 16-18: the Solar Angel of the Hypodorian Song: Epiphany of Sylvia the Magenta Forester (Converse Calendar), or the Hypolydian Song: Coronation of Brigit the Yellow-Green Enchanter (Inverse Calendar).

Alfheim: The Norse Alfheim, realm of the Bright Elves. corresponds to the throat or mouth chakra’s Atmic realm (Laughter of Love, or Body of Spirit). The throat chakra is considered the place of Inner Space, Ether or Akasha, associated with the sense of hearing and subtle vibration. This is the realm of magical creativity and manifestation, the realm of the Cherubim, Shakti, Shekina, the Divine Mother, and the Holy Spirit, and administered by Mages, Poets, Enchanters, Singers, Bards, and Filidh: exemplars of Hope and of God/dess Consciousness.

Polymnia: Also known as Polyhymnia, she is the Muse of Lyric Poetry and inventor of the lyre, whose strings may be equated to the vocal cords of the throat. She rules the seventh three days (days 19-21, including Third Quarter) of the Lunar Calendar of Ascension.

Aspen: The fourth of the Ogham tree-vowels (“Eadha” for “E”), Aspen here marks the West-southwest point of the South Pentacle: Early Fall, ca. September 5-7: the Solar Angel of the Triple Staff: Accession of Nuadha the Green Cleric (Converse Calendar), or the Fiery Sword: Birth of Arawn the Red Hunter (Inverse Calendar).

Vines: The eleventh of the Ogham tree-consonants (“Muin” for “M”), Vine here marks the Western point of the West Pentacle: the week of Mid-Fall Equinox, with its South Pillar at ca. September 21-23: the Solar Angel of the Fiery Sword: Epiphany of Arawn the Red Hunter (Converse Calendar), or Triple Staff: Crowning of Nuadha the Green Cleric (Inverse Calendar); and its North Pillar at ca. September 26-28: the Solar Angel of the Crane: Death of Tara the Rosy Abbess (Converse Calendar), or Peafowl: Accession of Rhiannon the Turquoise Fowler (Inverse Calendar). Included between these two Pillars is the actual Equinox or Cross of ca. September 24-25: the Solar Angel of the Hawk: Betrothal of Arawn the Red Hunter (Converse Calendar), or the Dove: Death of Nuadha the Green Cleric (Inverse Calendar).

Crone: Last of the three forms (Maiden, Mother, Crone) of the Triple Goddess, the Crone rules the last nine days of the 27-day Lunar Calendar (Waning Gibbous Moon to New Moon). This corresponds to the last four months of the Solar Calendar, from New Fall to Mid-Winter Solstice (Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and Capricorn in the Taurus-Equinox system), and the last eight hours of the Day: from 4:00 P.M. or “New Sext” to Midnight, “Full Vespers” or “Full Tenebrae.”

Vanaheim: The Norse Vanaheim is the realm of the Vanir, corresponding to the brow or third-eye chakra’s Monadic realm (Light of Love, or Soul of Spirit). This is the realm of sacred geometries, divine patterns or archetypes, equivalent to the realm of the Seraphim and the Pleroma, the Cosmic Christs (Divine Son and Divine Daughter), and administered by the Seers, Vates and Ovates, exemplars of Love and of Unity Consciousness.

Melpomene: The Muse of Tragedy; she rules the eighth three days (days 22-24) of the Lunar Calendar of Ascension.

Ivy: The twelfth of the Ogham tree-consonants (“Gort” for “G”), Ivy here marks the West-Northwest point of the North Pentacle: Late Fall, ca. October 11-13: the Solar Angel of the Peafowl: Coronation of Rhiannon the Turquoise Fowler (Converse Calendar), or the Crane: Descent of Tara the Rosy Abbess (Inverse Calendar).

Reed: The thirteenth of the Ogham tree-consonants (“Ngetal” for “NG”), Reed here marks the Northwest point of the East Pentacle: Early Hallows, ca. October 31- November 2: the Solar Angel of the Narcissus: Death of Gwydion the Orange Mage (Converse Calendar), or the Flax: Accession of Amaethon the Blue Planter (Inverse Calendar). The Reed is used to make arrows, the weapon of Sagittarius (the Blue Planter).

Asgard: The Norse Asgard is the realm of the Aesir or Highest Gods (perhaps cognate with the Aes Sidhe), corresponding to the crown chakra’s Logoic Realm (Love of Love; Spirit Love). It is associated with the radiant Sun above the Head: the Great Central Sun of the Universe(s), the source of all inspiration. This is the unmanifest emptifulness, the transcendent realm of Shiva, the Divine Father, equivalent to the realm of the Elohim, and administered by the Brahmins, Flamens or Druids, exemplars of transcendent Brahman consciousness.

Urania: “Heavenly,” the Muse of Astrology, Astronomy, and the knowledge of the Heavens; she rules the last three days (days 25-27) of the 27-day Lunar Calendar of Ascension.

Yew: The fifth of the Ogham tree-vowels (“Idho” for “I”), Yew here marks the Northwest point of the South Pentacle: Late Hallows, ca. November 15-17: the Solar Angel of the Flax: Coronation of Amaethon the Blue Planter (Converse Calendar), or Narcissus: Descent of Gwydion the Orange Mage (Inverse Calendar). The Yew is used to make bows, the weapons of Sagittarius (the Blue Planter).

Blackthorn: The fourteenth of the Ogham tree-consonants (“Straith” for “Z”), Blackthorn here marks the North-northwest point of the West Pentacle: Early Winter, ca. December 5-7: the Solar Angel of the Amber: Death of Arianrhod the Amber Sage (Converse Calendar), or Sapphire: Accession of Cailleach the Indigo Mason (Inverse Calendar).

Elder: Elder is here used both as a title for the Cailleach or the Indigo Mason, and as the Elder tree, the fifteenth of the Ogham tree-consonants (“Ruis” for “R”). Elder here marks the the Northern point of the North Pentacle: the week of Mid-Winter Solstice, with its West Pillar at ca. December 19-21: the Solar Angel of the Sapphire: Coronation of Cailleach the Indigo Mason (Converse Calendar), or Amber: Descent of Arianrhod the Amber Sage (Inverse Calendar); and its East Pillar at ca. December 24-26: the Solar Angel of Lead: Accession of Lugh the Violet Smith (Converse Calendar) or Gold: Birth of Bel the Yellow Creator (Inverse Calendar). Included between these two Pillars is the actual Solstice, ca. December 22-23: the Solar Angel of Zinc: Motherhood of Cailleach the Indigo Mason (Converse Calendar), or Silver: Birth of Arianrhod the Amber Sage (Inverse Calendar).
